Abby Pang of Illuma Law Nominated for RBC Canadian Women Entrepreneur Awards – "Ones to Watch"

We are excited to announce that Abby Pang, Founder and Principal Lawyer of Illuma Law, has been nominated for the RBC Canadian Women Entrepreneur Awards in the “Ones to Watch” category. She, and all of us at Illuma, are incredibly proud to be nominated for this honour.

What does the nomination and application process involve?

The RBC Canadian Women Entrepreneur Awards are Canada’s leading platform for celebrating women in business. For over 30 years, they have honoured the country’s most accomplished and impactful women across industries. The “Ones to Watch” category specifically recognizes early-stage entrepreneurs who are making significant waves in their fields through innovation, vision, and potential for scalable growth. To be considered for this award, the entrepreneur must be nominated by a third party, confirm their eligibility, and complete the formal award application.

Our Thoughts

Abby’s nomination reflects her transformative leadership and the remarkable strides she has made since founding Illuma Law in 2022. Under her guidance, Illuma has grown into a thriving, all-female family law firm known for its compassionate, low-conflict approach to legal services. Beyond her legal expertise, Abby is also recognized for breaking industry norms—offering progressive workplace policies like child-care top-ups and paid parental leave, while championing diversity, equity, and women’s empowerment both within and outside the legal field.

From spearheading community outreach campaigns to mentoring the next generation of lawyers, Abby’s commitment to reshaping the legal landscape is clear—and this nomination affirms that her work is not only being noticed, but celebrated on a national scale. Award finalists will be announced in September 2025, so stay tuned!

Congratulations to Abby on this well-deserved recognition!

Elyse Stacey

Elyse Stacey was born and raised in Vancouver, and after completing her undergraduate degree at the University of Toronto, she returned to her hometown to begin her professional journey. She graduated with high distinction from the UofT, earning a spot on the Dean's List while double majoring in psychology and anthropology.

Elyse thoroughly enjoyed her studies, especially when evolutionary theories intersected with psychology, allowing her to explore social biases that continue to shape the world today. This unique perspective along with working in various research positions, where she witnessed firsthand the gender inequalities that persist within and beyond academia, fuels her desire to support women facing adversity, whether in personal or legal matters.

In her current role as Client Service Coordinator and Office Administrator at Illuma Law, Elyse thrives in a collaborative, client-centered environment. She finds a significant amount of intrinsic motivation and satisfaction assisting our clients in need. In the future, she aspires to grow further in the legal field, focusing on legal support or exploring managerial/human resources opportunities.

Outside of work, Elyse is passionate about the performing arts, reading (especially Stephen King), staying active, and traveling to connect with new cultures.
